Back Up and Running: NCBA Subcontractor Certification Program
As we begin 2021 and more than 9 months later, we are still up against the worst global pandemic we have seen in decades and much is still in question for our industry. And yet, our clients have expanded and strengthened the audit and systems testing requirements for our third-party vendors. Audits are a necessary but time consuming and expensive part of our businesses.
NCBA set out over 18 months ago to offer a solution to our members and vendors that would help us streamline the process, save money, and provide our members with apples-to-apples comparisons and best practices across all service providers.
What we developed was the Subcontractor Certification Program, an assessment program that provides consistent feedback in the areas of:
- Contracts
- Human Resources
- Information Security
- Customer Contact (Phone Calls)
- Physical/Environmental Security
- Incident Reporting
- Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery
- Insurance
For more detail on the program you can check out our program assessment details and our Overview Q&A.
We would like to thank our partners that jumped in enthusiastically to help us launch this program a little over a year ago:
While the program was temporarily on pause at the onset of the pandemic, we worked closely with both Crowe LLP, our Audit Partner, and NCBA member clients to ensure that we could re-start the program and offer the quality and diligence our certifications require.
We are currently working with EZMessenger, among other vendors to complete the assessment process. Additionally, Stratus Payment Solutions is our first vendor to renew their membership in the program and is currently in the process of their year 2 assessment.
Members may obtain the assessment results for our completed vendors. Or if you don’t see your vendors listed above check out our toolkit to help us bring more vendors onboard.
For vendors interested in participating, learn more about the assessment and certification process.
