Nominations for Officers and Directors: 2021 NCBA Election Notice

The election for the office of NCBA President-elect, Treasurer, Secretary, and six NCBA Directors will be on Thursday, October 14, 2021. Voting will be held from Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at 12:00 Noon CENTRAL through Thursday, October 14, 2021 at 3:00pm CENTRAL. Voting will take place concurrent with the NCBA Fall 2021 Conference. All eligible members will be able to vote electronically at this time.
Pursuant to the Bylaws, Article VI, Section 4:
"Nominations for the Directors or Officers to be elected shall be made by a self-nomination seventy-five (75) days prior to the election."
Nominees must meet all qualifications of office as set forth in the Bylaws, including Art. VI, Sec. 2:
"The Board of Directors shall consist of the elected officers and twelve Directors who must be practicing attorneys in good standing with an 'Active' Law Firm Member. Directors must have attended at least one Association conference in the two years immediately preceding the election. Multiple office members shall be counted as one member. A Law Firm Member is limited to having only one elected Officer or Director on the Board at any given time."
You can become a candidate by submitting your self-nomination for election for Officer or Director in writing by e-mail or mail only to the NCBA Election Committee Co-Chairs (see contact information below). YOUR SELF-NOMINATION MUST BE RECEIVED OR POSTMARKED NO LATER THAN FRIDAY, JULY 30, 2021, WHICH IS AT LEAST SEVENTY-FIVE (75) DAYS PRIOR TO THE DATE OF THE ELECTION ON THURSDAY, OCTOBER 14, 2021.
Please note: As a self-nominated candidate, you are invited and strongly encouraged to attend the NCBA 2021 Fall Conference in San Antonio, Texas.
Commitment: The NCBA Board of Directors currently meet face-to-face two times a year. Once at each of the (Spring & Fall) Conferences – for which Board members must support their own travel expenses. The NCBA Board of Directors also meet via conference call in between other meetings. Whenever possible meetings are scheduled to provide sufficient notice for planning purposes. NCBA Board members are expected to attend all meetings.
NCBA’s Directors, Treasurer, and Secretary serve in the position for two years and President-Elect serves in the position for one year.
